Marching Band
Welcome to the home of the "Marching Black & Gold". Established in the fall of 2007, the marching band is one of the largest student organizations at CHS. Alumni of the band have gone on to perform with the marching bands of Rutgers University, West Virginia, Michigan, The University of Massachusetts, The University of Delaware, Northwestern, Gettysburg, Boston University, Arizona State, Syracuse, Towson, Virginia Tech, University of Southern California, Purdue, and more. The "MBG" has placed in the top of their division in USBands NJ State Championships and have been awarded Best Percussion at the 2014 and 2021 USBands State Championships and the 2015 USBands National Championships as well as Best Color Guard at the 2013 USBands National Championships and the 2014, 2017, and 2018 USBands NJ State Championships. The band has earned Championships at the 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2018 USBands Yamaha Cup at Metlife Stadium. The marching band has traveled to Disney World in 2010, 2012, 2014, and 2016 and won numerous awards in Festival Disney Parade Competitions. In 2019 the Marching Black & Gold marched in the Parade of Nations in Norfolk, Virginia. All Students in grades 8-12 are eligible to be in the marching band, and we'd love to have you as part of our family!
